You Invest in a State of Mind
Homer, Alaska, "the Cosmic Hamlet by the Sea," is a small
community of 4,500 that affords residents a wealth of services, activities and
stimulation. The setting is awesome! Homer is nestled on Kachemak Bay (now recognized as a
protected National Estuarine Research Reserve), views of majestic mountains, glaciers and volcanoes.
Homer Real Estate Associates was established in May 1985. Since then, we have continued with our commitment
to work with clients who appreciate the diversity, energy and magic this community affords.
Homer is the arts capital of Southcentral Alaska and as a result, there are
more than a dozen eclectic, creative galleries and a very active Arts
Council, which regularly brings nationally and internationally known
performers to town.
And what's even better, is that homes, homesites and investment properties are still very affordable in this very desirable location. There are homes available from $200,000 to $600,000. (There have recently been some $600,000 plus homes built by quality contractors in the area but that is not the norm.)
More people from all over the country are appreciating our quality of life and recreational opportunities, and investment in early retirement and second home properties has dramatically increased over the past five years.
Building lots in town are approximately 1/4 - 1/3 acre in size and have city water and sewer available. Prices range from the low $40,000 for non-view properties to $75,000
and up with Bay or Inlet views.
Larger parcels are available
on the hillside areas, typically outside of city limits. Property owners
have on site well and septic systems installed. These properties typically
range from 1 - 3 acres and are in the $100,000 plus price range.
The real estate market in Homer is very dynamic, new properties are coming on the market year round and pricing has been very stable, although increasing, yearly.
You'll never be bored in Homer, in fact you'll have a full plate of lifestyle options to choose from, and you'll have the freedom to live the one you choose. (Course you'll have to be willing to share space with moose, an occasional bear,
ever present eagles and more.) If you would like more specific information, please call our office at 907-235-5294,
